    • Brookfield HS Veteran's Assembly

    • Above left is the “Class” picture for this year. Brookfield High School had 47 veterans attend the assembly. Each veteran will receive a copy of the picture. The FFA and Middle School Student Council worked together on the assembly. Before the assembly Brookfield R-3 provided a Breakfast for the Veterans, their spouses and if they had any children or relation in school. They fed about 125 people. A big thanks to the BHS Lunch Ladies and Carol Petree. The commemorative flag was a special moment for everyone. The flag, which had been flown over the Arizona Memorial in 1975 and again in 2009, was presented to Rear Admiral 3C Emery Wood - U.S. Navy. Admiral Wood is 90-years young and was awarded several service medals during World War II. Katie Swift and Brock Wright presented the flag to Admiral Wood on behalf of the Brookfield R-3 School District and student body. The BHS Band and Men’s Choir gave outstanding musical presentations. A special thanks to BHS Junior Lauren Roberts and BHS Sophomore Grace Montgomery for sounding the ever important bugle calls Reveille and Echo Taps. It was the District’s honor and duty to pay tribute to all Veterans. The school hopes our ceremony helped each and every one of them know how much Brookfield R-3 cares.
