- Grant Buys New Rural Firetruck in Brookfield
- Posted Dec. 21, 2012 midnight
- Seen above is the arrival of a new rural fire truck for the Brookfield Rural Fire Department. The truck was purchased through a $276,000 grant, with a five percent match (covered with Federal funds) from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance for Firefighters Grant. The funds also included the equipment for the truck, as well as training for the drivers. This truck is a 3000 gallon tanker/pumper truck, and replaced a 1971 Army Truck that held 2500 gallons, but was not a pumper.
