Robert Lee “Bob” Washam, 82, Laclede, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at Rhodes Funeral Home. Masonic services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, with visitation to follow until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Sumner.
Memorials in his name to the donor’s choice may be left at or mailed to the funeral home at 216 Linn St., Brookfield, Mo. 64628.
He was born March 16, 1930, in Sumner, son of Arthur Earl and Zedena Belle (Waller) Washam. December 19, 1955, he married Leona L. Peitz, Liberty.
Bob was a veteran of the Korean War and retired in 1966 from the US Army, having served with the 82nd Airborne. In his early years he earned his private pilot’s license. He was a member of Brookfield Masonic Lodge #86 A.F. & A.M.
Survivors include his wife, Leona, Laclede; a daughter, Cindy Siqueiros, Roeland Park, Kan.; four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Jr. and Diane, Kansas City, William “Bill” and Valerie, Laclede, Earl and Anita, Kearney, and Steve and Tonia, Laclede; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl and Roy; and two sisters, Mary and Ardela.
