  • Eva Louise Seitz, 90, Carthage, formerly of Brookfield, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage.
    Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012, in Park Lawn Cemetery, Brookfield. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield.
    Memorials to Trinity United Methodist Church, Brookfield, or First United Methodist Church of Carthage may be left at or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, Mo.  64628.
    Eva Louise, was born May 19, 1922, in Brookfield, daughter of Clifford and Anna (Staples) Mendenhall. On April 5, 1941, she married Carl E. Seitz. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1995.
    Mrs. Seitz was a homemaker and active in Mother’s Club, Bridge Club, and various church activities while in Brookfield. After retirement she and Carl traveled in their fifth wheel and later lived at Lake of the Ozarks in Sunrise Beach during the summer and spent their winters in South Texas. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Brookfield, and had been involved in many church activities at Sunrise Beach, Springfield, and South Texas.
    Survivors include three children, Stephen Seitz and wife, Mary, Hot Springs Village, Ark., Jim Seitz and wife, Janet, Carthage, and Carla Hogan and husband, Rod, Topeka, Kan.; five grandchildren, Lisa Lawrence and husband, Kevin, Jonesboro, Ark., Debi Piercy and husband, Michael, Little Rock, Ark., Shannon Seitz and husband, Ethan Honnell, Hermann, Jared Seitz and wife, Allison, Ballwin, and Kristen Howie and husband, Matt, Port Huron, Mich.; two step-grandsons, Christopher and Weston Hogan; seven great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
    She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley (Crist) Chrisman and Edith Mae Heckman and one brother, Roger Mendenhall.
