The Missouri Department of Conservation will sponsor a Hunter Education Course on August 21, 22, and 23 at the Brookfield Area Career Center. The classes will run from 6 - 9 p.m. on August 21, 22 and from 5-9 p.m. on August 23. The class is open to anyone 11 years of age and older.
Hunter Education Classes will teach students about firearms, ammunition, gun safety, the role of the hunter and hunting in wildlife conservation, responsibilities of the outdoors person, outdoor ethics, and hunter preparedness.
Those successfully completing the course will receive a Hunter Education Certification Card from the Missouri Department of Conservation. The Hunter Certification is mandatory before a hunter can purchase a hunting permit in many states including Missouri and Canadian Provinces.
Class size is limited to 40 students. Online pre-registration is required. Please log on to the Missouri Department of Conservation website at www.missouriconservation.org. Click on Hunter Education and then Find a Hunter Education Class. Then, click on Missouri Hunter Education Class Room Course. This will take you to a calendar where you can search for a class or go to the date the scheduled class will start on and click on the class to register for it.
