Two teams of local golfers squared off in the first ever Linn County Ryder Cup.
A pair of golf teams, representing the Brookfield and Marceline Country Clubs, respectively, played the first annual Linn County Ryder Cup at the Brookfield Country Club on Saturday. The honorary first tee-off was made by Brookfield High School coaching legend Eldon Sieboldt.
Those participating for Brookfield were: Jason Weydert, Rob Tollerton, Shawn Sayre, Billy Morris, Daniel Littrell, Barry Johnson, Chaz Walgren, Drew Elliott, Jonathan Black, Jeff Sayre, Terry Brozmer, Tommy Bennett, Mike Sattman, Lavon Johns, Matt Cunningham, William Devoy, Greg Ewing, Terry Tschannen, Shane Head, Richard Parker, Ryan Collins, Rodney Sattman, Jamie Jackman, and Carl Bunten.
Those participating for Marceline were: Chase Epperson, Kaleb Lake, Mark Bloss, Tyler Hamilton, Tim Jordan, Matt Finch, Rick McCollum, Gene Finch, Jerry Newman, Murray Key, Steve Mull, Brad Gladbach, Jeremy Epperson, Rob Sims, Matt Mauzey, Josh Shoemaker, Mark Taylor, Brandon Meyer, Brad Burns, Robert Schmitt, Tim Frandson, and Jerry Swanson.
Marceline won this year’s cup, by a final score of 22.5-17.5.
