Lucille G. (Gladbach) Lawson, 81, Independence, formerly of Marceline, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2012. at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Marceline, with Father Jerry Kaimann officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, rural Mendon. Pallbearers will be Brian Longwell, Steven Longwell, Steve Mendenhall, Lester Guest, Brad Gladbach, and Earl Guest.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation may be left at or mailed to Delaney Funeral Home, 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, Mo. 64658.
Lucille was born May 29, 1931, in Mendon, daughter of Anthony H. and Marguerite (Reichert) Gladbach.
Lucille worked at Walsworth Publishing as a proof reader. She attended St. Mark’s Church, Independence, and was a member Curves Exercise Club. She was a Kansas City resident the past 15 years.
Survivors include her son, Mark Longwell and wife, Jane, Lees Summit; daughter, Sherry Wood and husband, Terry, Blue Springs; brother, Vic Gladbach and wife, Phyllis, Mendon; two sisters, Marilyn Guest, Marceline, and Dorothy Mendenhall, Gladstone; five grandchildren and; four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bud; one sister, Rose Marie; and infant son, Michael R. Longwell.
