Mary Clark, age 95, of Brookfield died Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Life Care Center in Brookfield.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield with Rev. Richard Davis officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield. Visitation will begin Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. and the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until time for the service.

Mary Laverne, daughter of Charles M. and Bertha E. (Powell) Smith, was born January 11, 1917, in Garner. She was the youngest of six children, living most of her childhood days in Shelby. On February 14, 1947, she married Paul Clark who preceded her in death March 9, 2000.
Mary was baptized at the Park Baptist Church in Brookfield at the age of 12 and later joined and was a faithful member of the New Garden Church near Brookfield. When the New Garden Church closed she became a member of the Caldwell Street Baptist Church in Brookfield.
She had been a nurse during World War II while living in Texas. When she moved to Brookfield Mary worked at the Brown Shoe Factory until it closed in 1982. She was a homemaker and loved her family and pets.
Survivors include one son, Charles “Chuck” V. Clark and his companion Bonnie (Burns) Dorrell and her daughter, Monica Sattman and family all of Brookfield; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Owen of Albuquerque, New Mexico; six grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nine great great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard Owen; three brothers, Raymond Smith, Ernest Smith, and Leon Smith; and two sisters, Edith Burkholder and Ialleen Williams.
