Meadville Boys Win, Girls Second, Northwestern Girls Third

The CLAA Conference Softball Tournament is in the books, playing out last weekend after a rain delay moved the games.  Meadville’s teams played for first, and Northwestern played for third in the girls bracket.
Meadville’s Lady Eagles lost to Norborne 13-1 to take second place.  Kasie Boyd went 1-2.  Shelby Shiflett went 1-2.
Northwestern’s Lady Eagles won third place with an 18-11 victory over Tina-Avalon.  Sarah Benedict went 2-4 with a homerun.  Mallory gardner went 3-4.  Michaela Kornburst went 303 and was involved in a Fielder’s Choice.  Chelsey George went 2-4.  Sydney Sanders went 2-3 and was involved in a Fielder’s Choice.  Shailyn Spencer went 1-3.  Kirsten Brown went 2-3.
The Meadville Eagles brought home the CLAA Championship with a 10-6 win over Tina-Avalon.  Derrick Knifong went 4-4 with an RBI.  Derek Smith went 3-4 with four RBI’s.  Trevor Corzette went 3-4 with RBI.  Kolton Friesner went 1-4.  Logan Newlin went 1-3 with three RBI’s and sacrifice.  Cade Shiflett went 2-4.  Dalton Palmer had two walks.  Shawn Muck went 1-3.
