The annual Brookfield Girls Invitational Golf Tournament took place all day yesterday at the Brookfield Country Club with eight teams taking part. Brookfield hosted, and Marceline brought a four-person JV squad as well.
The Lady Dogs took first place with a team score of 390, besting second place Kirksville by 33 strokes. Marceline’s JV took seventh, shooting a 522, just behind LaPlata, and ahead of Schuyler County.
Miranda White of Brookfield was the Medalist at the event, shooting an 82. Nicole Liebhart of Brookfield took third with a 99, Cassie McKenzie took fifth with a 101, Amanda Hueffmeier took ninth with a 108.
“I was very pleased with the scores today,” said Brookfield Head Coach Jason White. “We had a couple of personal bests with Miranda and Cassie. We also had our best team score of the year. We are playing better golf at the right time of the season. The girls are starting to get more confidence in their swings. They did a great job today.”
Haylee Howe of Brookfield shot a 110, Sarah Porter of Marceline shot a 127, Morgan Snyder of Marceline shot a 129, Haley Meissen of Marceline shot a 132, and Chayla Cordray of Marceline shot a 134.
