George Johnson, 92, Brookfield, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at McLarney Manor, Brookfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Brookfield, with Rev. Mike White officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today, Sept. 28, 2012, at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Brookfield, with military rites rendered by Brookfield American Legion Post 182.

George Henry was born June 17, 1920, in River Rouge, Mich., son of Frank L. and Rose Marie (Parent) Johnson. He married Marguerite Wolfe on August 16, 1945.
George was a US Army veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific Islands. He operated Johnson Body Shop, Brookfield, for several years and had taught auto repair at the Mexico Area Vocational School, Mexico, for four years. He was also co-owner of Wolfe Auto Sales, Inc., Brookfield, with a Chrysler Corporation Franchise and later a General Motors Franchise. He had worked in service and sales all of his life. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Brookfield, Brookfield American Legion Post 182, Brookfield VFW Post 4557, and Brookfield Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Johnson, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Joanne Johnson, Morris, Ill.; one daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Donald Ray, Troy, Ill.; five grandchildren, Marc Johnson, Lisa Swedko, Allen Ray, Daniel Ray and Jason Wilmesherr; and five great-grandchildren, Carter and Caitlin Johnson, Korryn and Kody Swedko, and Tyler Ray.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joseph Johnson; one sister, Agnes White; and a great-grandson, Colin Johnson.
