  • The to-be-expanded Hartzell Hardwoods facility in Kirksville’s Industrial Park currently processes raw lumber by baking it in a kiln and then preparing it for shipment across the world.
Primarily using walnut lumber from Missouri and Iowa, the wood goes on throughout the U.S., Mexico, Asia, Middle East and Europe.
This wood is primarily used by flooring, furniture and doors manufacturers.
Hartzell purchased the facility in Kirksville’s Industrial Park this summer to grow its supply and production base and has plans to expand its output by four or five times its current capacity and more than double its current work force of about 10 full-time employees.
