  • The 5-1 Brookfield Bulldogs are banged up but happy after a Homecoming win over South Shelby last week. “We are obviously feeling very good about a huge homecoming win,” said Head Coach Nile Thudium. “We are very banged up, so we may need some younger players to step up and make plays for us this week.”
This week, the Clarence Cannon Conference season gets no easier, with a road game against a much-improved Palmyra team.
“Palmyra is 3-2 this season, with all games played in Conference,” said Coach Thudium. “They took Centralia to double-overtime early in the year, and beat South Shelby 13-0.”
Palmyra will run out of multiple sets on offense, keeping the Bulldogs defense on its toes. “They will run out of the split back veer,” said Coach Thudium.
Defensively, the Dogs will face a 5-2 Cover Two defense. “They will be very aggressive,” said Coach Thudium. “We expect them to blitz a great deal of the time.”
As usual, Coach Thudium is looking for big play out of his offensive line. “Our offensive line will need to play very physical football to match the aggressiveness of their D-line.”
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Palmyra this Friday night for this Clarence Cannon Conference matchup.
