Laura Jean Dorrell, 83, of Rothville, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 at Pershing Memorial Hospital, Brookfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, with Rev. Gail Brown officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today, Oct. 12, 2012, at the funeral home in Marceline. Burial will be in Siloam Chapel Cemetery, southwest of Marceline.

Jean was born May 29, 1929, in South Bend, Ind., daughter of Frank L. and Lola Neva (Shirley) Stuart. She married Charles Keith Dorrell on October 8, 1950. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1985.
Jean was a homemaker and had worked at State Street Station, Brookfield, approximately 20 years. She was a former board member of the Chariton County Sheltered Workshop and a Rothville resident since 1965.
Survivors include her four sons, Jeffery W. Dorrell, Orange Park, Fla., Frank L. Dorrell and Charles Keith Dorrell, Jr., both of Rothville, and Bryon R. Dorrell, Marceline; one daughter, Melony Renee Peacock, Hazelwood; one brother, Calvin Stuart, South Bend, Ind.; two sisters, Betty Stuart, South Bend, Ind., and Sharon Simpson, Harrison, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one grandson Bryon “Butch” Dorrell Jr.; and two sisters.
