After moving to Brookfield, she joined Park Baptist Church where she was involved in several committees and her Sunday School Class until she was no longer able to attend. Members of that Sunday School Class continued to visit her every week. Helen enjoyed a full life of caring for her family, church activities, the stock market and dealing in antique quilts.
