Lawrence Sprague, 83, Brookfield, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Park Baptist Church with Rev. David Blakely officiating. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, in Park Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with the family receiving friends from 6-8 that evening. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Cemetery, Brookfield.

Lawrence Raymond was born October 17, 1929, in Brookfield, son of Ralph and Christina (Cheek) Sprague. On January 23, 1949, he was united in marriage to Hurla Jean Raw in Marceline.
He had owned and operated Standard Oil Company, was a Route Man for Justrite Quality Check Dairy, and worked for Brookfield R-3 School. He was ordained a Deacon in 1988, Baptist Men’s President, Chairman of Ushers, and Secretary of Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Hurla Jean, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra Sue and Jay Jones and Cara and Dr. Kenneth Alfieri, all of Columbia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Evan and Deborah Sprague, Lincoln, Neb., and David Ray and Ann Sprague, Ashland; five grandchildren, Jami (Jed) Spaulding, Kristi (Tom) Roddel, Eric (Nikki) Sprague, all of Lincoln, Neb., Nathan Sprague, Kansas City, and Hannah Sprague, Ashland; and eight great-grandchildren, Katie and Jacob Jones, Grace, Liberty and Hope Spaulding, Luke and Kylie Roddel and Alexiana Sprague.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene Sprague; and a grandson, Brent Jones.
