Bessie Carpenter, 90, Brookfield, formerly of Pueblo, Colo., died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, with Rev. Jim Rogers officiating. Visitation will begin Sunday at 1 p.m., with the family will receiving friends from 5 to 7 that evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Purdin Cemetery, Purdin.
Bessie Lee, was born January 11, 1922, in Crowley County, Colo., daughter of Nick and Mary (Trull) Sharp.
Bessie was a homemaker and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church, Pueblo, Colo.
Survivors include four sons, Roy Marsh, Fred Marsh and wife, Elaine, James Marsh and wife, Donna, and Richard Beach, all of Colorado; two daughters, Esther Pfeiff and husband, Jim, Purdin, and Virgie Bryan and husband, Jack, Amarillo, Texas; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Carpenter; one daughter, Vickie Hickey; one son, Ronnie Marsh; two brothers, James “Bud” Sharp, and Eb Sharp; and four sisters, Sally Varner, Mildred Davis, Tulan Adair, and Clarissa Hollenbeck.
