Allen Stevens, 88, Blue Springs, formerly of Sumner, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Life Care Center of Carrollton.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, in Lakeside Cemetery, Sumner, with Gail Brown officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday followed by a Masonic Service at 10 a.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield. Military honors will be rendered by Swan Lake American Legion Post 586.

Allen Taylor, was born June 19, 1924 in Sumner, son of John Clyde and Nancy Pearl (Smart) Stevens. On November 28, 1949, he married Pearl Franklin.
Allen was retired from Kansas City Power and Light where he had worked as a customer service representative. He was a member of IBEW Local 1613, Kansas City, Sugar Creek American Legion, Lawson VFW, Ararat Shrine of Kansas City, and Swope Park Masonic Lodge where he had received his 50-year membership pin in June 2008, and Presbyterian Church, Overland Park, Kan. He was a US Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one brother, John Stevens and wife, Phyllis, Lawson; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Murry Stevens; and long-time companion, Hieda Martin.
