A second letter to the Brookfield R-3 Patrons from Superintendent Dr. Paul Barger.
Dear Parents, Staff, Students, and District Patrons,
First, we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding this morning regarding the safety measures that have been implemented for this week. We would also like to thank those that provided comments or suggestions throughout the day.
Secondly, we would like to provide you an update of safety changes we have made today. The updated changes are:
Tiny Tot Drive, the one-way street between the Elementary and Preschool, will be closed during the school day, 8:00-3:00. This change will be in effect for the remainder of the school year.
For parents/guardians dropping off children at the Pre-school building, please use the circle drive; this will be a new procedure for parents of students attending the lab school.
All parents/guardians picking up elementary students please use the front elementary doors, do not attempt to enter the building through the elementary cafeteria doors. We do have some concerns regarding the procedures for parents picking up elementary students afterschool. We will be meeting this week to develop a new procedure that will be implemented when students return in January. I will keep you posted on the changes as we finalize the procedure.
I have not finalized a date at this time, but I would like to hold a community meeting to discuss our safety program, go over changes we have made, and listen to any other suggestions that community members may have in regard to school safety.
For the parents bringing their children to school in the mornings, please note that the school buildings will not be unlocked until 7:00 a.m. each morning.
Finally, we would like to restate that our number one priority is the safety of our children and staff so please be patient with us as we work to implement the various changes at our schools. If you have any questions, suggestions, or concerns please call or e-mail the Superintendent Office at (660)258-7443 or email@example.com.
Paul M. Barger, Superintendent
