Sam Pore, 58, Mendon, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, with Rev. Doug Kraus officiating. Visitation was held from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial was in Siloam Chapel Cemetery, rural Mendon.
Sam was born June 2, 1954, in Marceline, son of Orlo and Elva Jean (Graham) Pore.
Sam worked as a conductor for the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railway. He was a member of the UTU and a Mendon area resident all his life.
Survivors include his mother, Jean Pore, Marceline; son, John Pore and wife Maggie, Rothville; two daughters, Tricia Phillips and husband, Mike, Dixon; and Sarah Jolene Willis and husband, Eddie, Rothville; sister, Sherry Vaughn and husband, Vernon, Marceline; and seven grandchildren, Isabel, Oscar, Evangeline, and Adelyn Phillips, and Ruby, Lily, and Colt Willis; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Orlo.
