Hildred R. Garr, 85, Brookfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at McLarney Manor Skilled Nursing Facility, Brookfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Freedom Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Adrain officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 this evening, Jan. 4, 2013, at the church. Burial will be in Parklawn Memory Gardens.

Hildred Ruth was born October 4, 1927, in Mendon, daughter of James Leo and Anna Belle (Craigg) McCollum. On March 17, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ervin E. “Pete” Garr in Boonville.
She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church where she was active and in the church choir. She was very active in 4-H where she served as a club leader and project leader for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Ervin “Pete” Garr, Brookfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gary Howell, Brookfield; two granddaughters and their husbands, Melissa and Shawn Kearns, Brookfield, and Ginger and Patrick Burks, Columbia; six great-grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley, Megan and Karissa Kearns, and Emily and Madeline Burks; one sister, Mildred Sullivan, Rock Island, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Leona Otey, Bloomington, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Howard, Virgil, James and Jack McCollum.
