  • The Brookfield Bulldogs wrestling team hosted a tri-meet at BHS last night, squaring off against Centralia and Kirksville. The Dogs faced a stiff Clarence Cannon Conference contest, as well as a tough fight from the Class Two State Champions.

  • The Brookfield Bulldogs wrestling team hosted a tri-meet at BHS last night, squaring off against Centralia and Kirksville. The Dogs faced a stiff Clarence Cannon Conference contest, as well as a tough fight from the Class Two State Champions.
    Against Centralia, neither team had a JV contestant. The night started at 106 with Matt Jackman winning by pinfall in 2:24. Garrett Zahner won in an open at 120. Blaine Sportsman lost by pinfall in 1:31 at 126.
    Cody Niemeier won by pinfall in 3:20 at 132. Lucas Burns lost by pinfall in 1:13 at 138. Brookfield lost in an open at 145. Micah Blakely won a major decision 13-2 at 152.
    The dual against Kirksville started with a JV bout at 195 and saw Furstenwerth win by pinfall in 3:14.
    The varsity competition started at 120 and saw Zahner win by pinfall in 1:35. Sportsman lost by pinfall in 1:04 at 126. Niemeier won by a 6-0 decision at 132.
    Burns  lost by pinfall in 51 seconds at 138. The Dogs lost in a open at 145. Blakely won by pinfall in 46 seconds at 152. Cooper won by pinfall in 13 seconds at 160.
