  • Dogs Dominate Rivalry Dual

  • Last night at Brookfield High School, the latest chapter of the Highway 36 Rivalry played out as the Marceline Tigers took on the Brookfield Bulldogs in a wrestling dual. The Dogs came out on the winning end of this chapter, taking all but one match, and winning the team score.

  • Last night at Brookfield High School, the latest chapter of the Highway 36 Rivalry played out as the Marceline Tigers took on the Brookfield Bulldogs in a wrestling dual. The Dogs came out on the winning end of this chapter, taking all but one match, and winning the team score.
    The night began at 182 pounds, with Reed McBroom winning in an open for the Dogs. Brycen Corf (195) and Trevor White (220) both also won in opens for Brookfield.
    In the first contested but of the night, Brookfield’s Dexter Carmichael defeated Marceline’s Michael Arnold at heavyweight by pinfall in 1:59. At 106, Dalton Fisher won in an open for the Tigers.
    At 113, Marceline’s Eric Thurman won a 6-4 decision over Brookfield’s Matt Jackman. Garrett Zahner won by pinfall in 46 seconds for the Dogs over Lane White of the Tigers at 120.
    Blaine Sportsman (126) won in an open for Brookfield. Cody Niemeier won over Austin Moudy at 132 by pinfall in 3:25 for the Dogs. Gage Maxwell defeated Nathan Moore at 138 by pinfall in 2:53 for Brookfield.
    Anthony Cupp (145) and Micah Blakely (152) both won in opens for the Dogs. Ramzie Cooper defeated Bo Hustead by pinfall in 1:22 at 160. In the fi al bout of the night, JJ Abongo pinned Tanner Sims in 45 seconds.
    These wins gave Brookfield a 72-9 team score win over Marceline.
