  • The Marceline Tigers and Lady Tigers are on a winning streak with wins recently over Schuyler County and Paris.  Over the course of these two games, the long journey to 1000 points for Tigers senior Brett McGlothlin came to an end on Monday night in front of the home crowd.
Monday night at home, the Lady Tigers opened the game against Lewis and Clark Conference rivals Paris with a 9-0 run that started with a three-pointer by Abby Gauthier.  This run lasted just under three minutes in the first quarter.  Paris made a run in the mid-quarter, but Marceline led 19-13 after one quarter.
Paris scored first in the second frame, but a pair of free throws by Sydnee Brooks responded for Marceline just under 90 seconds in.  This set the Lady Tigers off on a 10-0 run that lasted for three-and-a-half minutes.  A late 7-0 run would carry Marceline into the half with a 39-18 lead.
In the boys game, the Tigers opened up on a 7-0 run in the first 2:30 that all began with a three-pointer by Blake Linebaugh.  Paris would get on the board, and the teams would score back-and-forth to close the opening frame.  After one quarter, Marceline led 12-5.
The Tigers responded to an opening Paris hoop with a 13-0 run to further extend their lead.  Marceline cycled in many of their players off of the bench with a large lead.  At halftime, the Tigers led 27-9.
