  • Mary L. Kimbrough, 94, formerly of Purdin, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe.
    Funenral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Browning United Methodist Church with Rev. Sue Lambert officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery, rural Purdin.
    Memorials in her name to Browning United Methodist Church or Morris Chapel Cemetery may be left at or mailed to Rhodes Funeral Home, 216 Linn St., Brookfield, Mo. 64628. Online condolences may be left at www.rhodesfh.com.
    Mary Lee was born June 23, 1918, in Purdin, daughter of Grover and Susie (Gilmer) Garrett. She was united in marriage  to L.M. “Babe” Kimbrough on August 17, 1938, in Linneus.
    She was a longtime member of Browning United Methodist Church and Hope Circle. She had been a member of Browning Garden Club.
    Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, George and Patricia Kimbrough, Purdin; a son-in-law, Jerry BeMary L. Kimbrough, 94, formerly of Purdin, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe.nnett, Browning; four grandchildren, James Kimbrough, Purdin, Rick Bennett, Browning, Vickie Wilkerson, Brookfield, and Debra Murphy, Pleasant Hill; nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lila Lorenze, Purdin, Carolee Peterson, Kennett Square, Pa., and Doris Erskin, Kenosha, Wisc.; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded ind by her parents; her husband, Babe Kimbrough; a daughter, Barbara Bennett; a great-granddaughter, Chasity Bennett; and sisters, Vivian Shanks, Louise Hoover, Francis Thorne, and Ester Nichols.
