Paul W. Atterbury, 97, Brookfield, formerly of Marceline, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Life Care Center, Brookfield.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, with Rev. David Blakely and Rev. Brian Baker officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Marceline. Pallbearers will be Derrick Stonger, Damon Stonger, Brad Atterbury, Bryan Atterbury, Ronald Atterbury Jr., Jay Atterbury, Mike Lindsay, Jerry Lee Lindsay, and Greg Lindsay.
Memorials to Marceline First Baptist Church Building Fund may be left at or mailed to the funeral home at 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, Mo. 64658.
Paul was born October 29, 1915, in Mike, son of Clyde Leroy and Della C. (Brewer) Atterbury. He married Gola May Pore on February 4, 1939, in Marceline. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2010.
Paul was a trucker and farmer. He was a member of the Marceline First Baptist Church and had lived in Brookfield since 2003.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-lalw, James Paul and Christine Atterbury, Marceline, and Ronald Noel and Marilyn Atterbury, Gatesville, Texas; two daughters, Janice Ruth and Gary Merritt, and Della Joyce Lindsay and friend, Clark Milligan, Brookfield; 15 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Jerry Lindsay; brother, Noel Atterbury; and two great-grandchildren, John Miller Robinson and Kaleigh Robinson.
