After a two-year 'honeymoon' with another emergency callback provider, Brookfield Emergency Management Jamie Stallo has contracted with a much more reliable and user-friendly emergency notification system. "The old system dropped some calls, and the new one, CodeRED, is free of charge to all residents within the city limits of Brookfield." In addition, Brookfield residents can add additional telephones, also at no charge. To add more phone numbers to the reverse 911 service, access your internet, open your address bar and log onto:
http://cne.coderedweb.com/Default.aspx?groupid=V17wq7kTlhQwsxEcC9edUA%3d%3d or call Jamie Stallo at 258-5300.
In the event that you can't log onto the CodeRED website, or don't want to take the time to enter the admittedly long web address mentioned above, you will need to come to Brookfield City Hall and pick up a registration form. That form is only for additional phone numbers. If you already had a landline telephone with the previous emergency callback system and don't want to add cell phone numbers, you don't need to do anything; you're already registered.
Even if you registered your cell phone with the previous system, you'll have to do that again. If you are an individual or a business that has changed your phone number(s) or address within the past year, or has an unlisted phone number, a cell phone number, or a VoIP (voice over internet protocol) phone, you will need to register that information.
Stallo cautions, "Our emergency callback system is only as good as the telephone number database supporting it. If your phone number isn't in the CodeRED database, you will not be called. One of the reasons we chose this emergency callback system is because CodeRED gives individuals and businesses the ability to add their own phone numbers directly into the system's database.
