    Eskimo Pies

Inventions are the result of problems solved.

Christian Kent Nelson was just a boy when he watched a friend decide between ice cream and a chocolate bar. As an adult, he decided no one should have to make that decision. His solution: he invented an ice cream bar covered in hard chocolate.

Nelson called it an I-Scream Bar, but after partnering-up with successful candymaker Russel C. Stover, the name was changed. Patent #1,404,539 was granted to Nelson on January 24, 1922, for his Eskimo Pie.
