Dale Heaney, 78, Eureka, formerly of Brookfield, and Marceline, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Chesterfield.
Funeral service were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Fe. 4, 2013, at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield. The family will received friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookfield.

Dale Kenton was born September 3, 1934, in Rothville. On December 21, 1958, he married Sharon Stanard at the Park Baptist Church, Brookfield.
Dale attended Northeast Missouri State University, Kirksville on a four-year football scholarship. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and Special Education. He was a teacher and coach for 27 years and later worked for the Missouri Department of Mental Health and Aging. He was a member of the Old Beth Pell Presbyterian Church, Mike. He was a US Marine Corp veteran and served in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of the home; one son, Michael Heaney, Eureka; two grandchildren, Meagan Elizabeth Heaney and Alec Kenton Heaney; his mother-in-law, Virginia Stanard, Jackson, Miss.; two brothers-in-law, Leonard Shaul, North Kansas City and Jim Stanard and wife, Maris, Jackson, Miss.; four nephews, Brian Shaul and wife, Felicia and family, North Kansas City, Scot Shaul and wife, Michelle, and family, Las Vegas, Nevada, David Stanard and wife, Lisa, and family, and Jason Stanard and wife, Robin, and family, all of Jackson, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Kenton Heaney; his daughter, Jennifer Heaney; his father-in-law, James F. Stanard; his sister-in-law, Sandy Shaul; a nephew, Greg Stanard; and an aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and Sam Kienast.
