Samuel Bennett Jones, 56, Columbia, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at his home.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Grace Bible Church, 601 Blue Ridge Road. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the church under the direction of Bach-Yager Funeral Home.
Samuel was born January 3, 1957, in Brookfield, son of George B. and Kathleen Jones. On December 23, 1978, he married Susan Knifong.
Sam spent his youth in Linneus, and was a 1975 graduate of Linn County R-1 High School. He earned a B.S. in Business from Columbia College. He was employed for several years with the University of Missouri Physicians and Boone Hospital Center in the business and financial departments. He opened a high performance audio and video store Pure Audio in 2007 with his business partner Travis Huff.
Survivors include his wife, Susan, Blue Springs; his daughter, Hillary Claunch and Jeremy, Columbia; his son, Ryland, of the home; his parents, George B. and Kathleen Jones, Blue Springs; his brothers, Thomas, Blue Springs, and Edward (and Jerry), Casper, Wyo.;a sister, Diana, Colummbia; two brothers-in-law, Dyle (and Debbie), Canon City, Colo., and Terrill (and Tanya), Buffalo, Wyo.; a sister-in-law, Rinda (and Dan) Gibson, Las Vegas, Nev.; and two uncles, Calvin Jones, Liberty, and Harry Noland, Llano, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Noel and Florence Jones and Harry and Lucille Noland; an aunt, Helen McClanahan; a cousin, Stanley McClanahan; and his wife’s parents, Stillman and Louise Knifong.
