The MFA Oil Foundation has awarded a pair of grants to two local organizations, which are to be applied to the needs of these organizations. The first grant went to the Marceline R-5 Agriculture Department for purchase of tools in the new ag building. The second grant went to American Legion Green Hills Post 57 for the cost of their new roof.
The MFA Oil Foundation was established in 1998, and provides support to nonprofit organizations that are working to improve communities where MFA Oil has a significant concentration of members and employees.
MFA Oil President Jerry Taylor described the MFA Oil Foundation as “a program that allows our company to give support back to the small towns and rural communities that are the foundation of our business.” He said focus for selecting grant recipients is based on three areas: programs designed to build knowledge and leadership skills of rural youth; agriculture and cooperative education programs; and organizations active in addressing and solving community problems and improving the quality of life.
