The Brookfield High School basketball teams closed out their 2012-13 home campaigns by splitting games with Clarence Cannon Conference opponents Lousiana. Over the course of this series, Lady Dogs senior Miranda White would score her 1500th career point.
The Lady Dogs would open the first game on a 10-0 run with White and Samantha Gonzalez both draining three-pointers to start the game. Louisiana would respond with a 5-0 run ending when White found Bailey Parks under the basket. After one quarter, Brookfield led this game 27-8.
Jaclyn Weydert would get a steal and a hoop to start the second frame for the Lady Dogs. Alesa Frey would toss in a hoop as well to start Brookfield on a 4-0 run. Louisiana would score, but the Lady Dogs ended the half on a 9-0 run to lead 42-11.
In the boys game, the Dogs fell behind early as Lousiana started the game on a 9-0 run. This ended with a bucket by Cale McCurley at the 4:02 mark. After one quarter, Brookfield trailed 23-13.
In the second frame, Brookfield battled back and closed the deficit to three points at the 3:41 mark. This was done, in part, thanks to Matt Neeley crashing the boards and Austin Lark moving the ball to shooters like Tristen Duncan and Ryan Kearns. At the half, though, Brookfield trailed 40-31.
