Think about the changes we are seeing right now in our community.
My favorite banker and I were talking over lunch a few weeks ago. He pointed out that there are going to be some serious changes in our community in the near future. I agree.
We have Todd Ahrens, the new CEO of Hannibal Regional Hospital. We have Mike McFarland, the progressive new CEO at BASF and hiring has picked back up. We are going to have a new Executive Director of the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum - we're all hoping it will be Henry Sweets, but still that's change. We have McKenzie Disselhorst, the hard working new Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce. General Mills has experienced a change in leadership as well, doing away with the General Manager position all together. Even our state district lines have been redrawn with new people representing us in Jefferson City and Washington DC.
Those are just a few of the key leadership positions in Hannibal that have changed within the past few years.
There are a few more leadership positions that really need to change. This is a perfect time for growth and renewal. It's time to think about who is serving in what capacity – who is holding us back and who is moving us forward.
