The Brookfield Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for the 2013 BHS Hall of Fame selection. The Hall of Fame was established to recognize and honor anyone who has contributed significantly to the enhancement of the academics, athletics, or extra-curricular traditions of Brookfield R-3 School District. It also recognizes BHS alumni who have outstanding accomplishments since BHS attendance.
Qualifications to be nominated include: the candidate must be at least 30 years of age and meet the mission statement stated above. Posthumous nominations will be accepted; active employees and currently serving school board members are ineligible. A maximum of three nominees will be selected by a panel of judges and will be announced by the committee in a press release in early April. Candidates nominated and not selected in the previous years are still active and will be considered for voting again this year. Recipients will be honored at the BHS Alumni Banquet, July 13, 2013. Past inductees have been: General Oren Eugene Hurlbut, Ronald Byron Luther, Dr. Howard A. Rusk, Philip Cole Couch, Admiral Donald Cooke Davis, Dr. Melbourn Sheehan, Mrs. Ida May Wombwell, Robert Devoy, and Vernon Kennedy.
