Beulah M. Darr, 95, Marceline, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Adams Street Place, Jefferson City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the Bethany Baptist Church, Marceline, with Rev. David Gouge officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Marceline. Pallbearers will be Bill Toops, Fred Lewis, Fred Dorrell, Corey Morris, Damon Morris, and John Daller with James Farris as an honorary pallbearer.
Memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church Building Fund and these may be left at or mailed to Delaney Funeral Home, 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, Mo. 64658.
Beulah was born February 21, 1918, in New Cambria, daughter of Benjamin and Effie Mae (Dowell) Mordecai. She married William Russell Darr on November 30, 1945, in Kansas City. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1986.
Beulah attended Brookfield Public Schools and graduated from High School in 1937. While a homemaker most of her life, she was employed early in her life at Brown Shoe Company and later at Walsworth Publishing Company and Herff Jones. She was a charter member of the Bethany Baptist Church where she was very active and a choir member, and a Marceline resident most of her life.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi Sue and Dr. Dean Morris, Jefferson City; son, David R. Darr, Marceline; sister, Marceda Bender and LaMar, Moberly; three grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and five sisters.
