A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038.

He was born on March 25, 1922, in Linn County, Missouri, to Leona (O’Dell) and Earl French. Edward married Ione (Coe) French.
He joined the Army-Air Force in 1943, serving in World War II. After graduating from the University of Missouri in 1952, he had a career in Civil Engineering. He was a lifetime member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, an involved participant of his neighborhood community, and an active member of his local church, Eighth Church of Christ, Scientist in Houston, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Ione; daughters and sons-in-law, Julie Swearingen and Lawrence Swearingen, and Marie and Mark Dewitt; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry Coe French; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann (Robinson) French; and sister, Evelyn (French) Thrasher.
