The Brookfield City Council has announced their selection for replacement of retiring City Manager Dave Hane. Dana Tarpening, current City Clerk, has been named to follow Hane at the City’s top leadership position.
“As a Council and community we have been very pleased with our current leadership,” said Mayor Jack Forbes, “Our financial position and completed projects have improved dramatically in the past seven years. We expect these high standards to continue and have confidence that Dana will meet our expectations.”
Dana began her working career with the City in 1977 and has held various positions before being named City Clerk in 1986. Since 1986 Dana has worked with eight different City Managers and has had an opportunity to experience many different management styles.
Mayor Forbes further commented, “We feel that Dana can use her years of City service to our advantage in continuing our successful operation.”
Tarpening will begin her new role as City Manager upon Hane’s effective retirement date of May 1, 2013.
The search for a new City Clerk will begin immediately.
