The annual day-long Brookfield Relays took place on Friday at the (soon-to-be-named) Richard (Dick) Cochran Track Facility at Brookfield High School. The event was broken up into large (blue) and small (white) school divisions, and featured 20 total teams.
In the small school division, Linn County took fourth in the girls standings with 48 team points. The Mustangs took second in the boys standings, with 141 points. Polo and Glasgow topped the results in their respective brackets.
In the large school class, Brookfield took second in the girls division with 107 points, while Marceline took third with 88 points. In the boys division, Marceline took seventh with 48 points, while Brookfield took eighth with 40.
The results are as follows for individual local participants: Rylee Cisna of Brookfield took seventh in the high jump with a height of 4’ 4”. Bryar Bookout of Linn County took first in the white high jump with a height of 8’ 8”. Zach McConkey of Brookfield took first in the blue high jump with a height of 5’ 10”.
Brookfield placed two in the pole vault with Alesa Frey (10’) taking first and Alexis Hustead (6’ 6”) taking third. Brookfield’s Taylor Wallace (8’ 6”) took seventh and Tanner Berry (7’ 6”) took eighth in the boys pole vault.
Britane Hubbard of Linn County took eighth in the white long jump with a leap of 10’ 10.75”. Molly Shoop of Marceline took first (15’ 2”), Samantha Gonzalez of Brookfield took seventh (12’ 3”) and Sydney Thompson of Brookfield took eighth (12’) in the blue long jump. Linn County’s Bookout (15’ 8”) took fourth in the white long jump.
Hubbard of Linn County took seventh in the white triple jump with a leap of 24’ 10”. Shoop of Marceline took first (31’ 11.5”), Bailey Parks of Brookfield took third (30’ 6.5”) and Frey of Brookfield took fourth (30’ 0.5”). Stewart McCollum of Brookfield took seventh in the blue long jump with a leap of 34‘ 3”.
Madison McCormick of Marceline took first (95’ 1”) and Jaclyn Weydert of Brookfield took fifth (74’ 10”) in the blue discus. Dylan Harvey of Linn County took third in the white discus with a throw of 108’. Matt Neeley of Brookfield took fourth in the blue discus with a throw of 97’ 9”.
McCormick of Marceline took fourth (31’ 1.5”) and Rachel Floray of Marceline took fifth (29’ 5”) in the blue shot-put. Justin Waltz of Linn County (37’ 3.5”) took fourth and Harvey of Linn County took fifth (35’ 6.5”) in the white shot-put. Blake Belzer of Marceline took eighth in the blue shot-put with a throw of 36’ 1”.
In the girls 3200m relay Brookfield took first (11:18.08) and Marceline took fourth (11:59.93). Linn County took first in the boys 3200m white relay with a time of 9:34.76. Brookfield took fourth (9:30.93) and Marceline took fifth (9:45.52) in the boys 3200m blue relay.
Page 2 of 2 - Morgan McCormick of Marceline took second (16.19) and Frey of Brookfield took fifth (17.88) in the blue 100m hurdles. Brennen Floray of Marceline took second in the blue 110m hurdles with a time of 16.67.
Linn County’s Matt Jungles (12.29) took second, while Marc Jungles took fourth (12.31) in the white 100m. Brookfield’s girls 800m relay team took eighth in blue with a time of 2:09.37. Marceline took second in the boys blue 800m relay (1:42.59) while Brookfield took fourth (1:44.49).
