Lena Mae Niemeier, 95, Marceline formerly of Wien, died Friday, May 10, 201 at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center, Marceline.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, Wien, with Father William Korte officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of the mass at the church. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wien. Pallbearers will be Chesley Niemeier, Jack Niemeier, Floyd Rodgers, Ralph Niemeier, Ollen Bixenman, and Chuck Brehm.
The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the St. Mary’s Cemetery may be left at or mailed to Delaney Funeral Home, 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, Mo. 64658.
Lena was born January 8, 1918, near Bynumville, daughter of George and Eva (Summers) Long. She married Theodore Francis Niemeier on September 7, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1990.
Lena was a homemaker and she had worked at Share 7 Care, Wien, for many years, and was a member of the St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, Wien.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Glen and Janet Niemeier, New Cambria, and Keven and Debbie Niemeier, Holts Summit; daughter-in-law, Jean Niemeier, Cohasset, Minn.; two sisters, Geneva Held, Marceline, and Ruth Smith, Sun City West, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Niemeier and wife, Carla, Liberty, Tamera Brocka, Kansas City, Mindy Niemeier, Columbia, and Travis Niemeier, Holts Summit; and five great grandchildren, Brock, Madison, and Kylie Niemeier, and Tiffany and Zachary Hunter.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Francis Niemeier; a daughter, Carol Niemeier; a sister, Mayme Biles; and two brothers-in-law, Charles Held and John Smith.
