Mary Margaret (Pennick) Graves, died Monday, May 13, 2013, after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, with Rev. Brian Baker officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Locke Cemetery, south of Marceline. Pallbearers will be Lucas Graves, Owen Graves, Shaunna Stallo, Kerri McGovern, Ginny Duey, Danni Lee Douglas, and Jessica Collor and honorary pallbearer Joshua Graves. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation may be left at or mailed to the funeral home at 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, Mo. 64658.
Known to her family as “Maggie”, she was born to Herman G. Pennick and Mary E. Willis on December 16, 1930, in Marceline.
She was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, a past 4-H leader, had worked at Walsworth Publishing, taught Sunday school and was a member of Siloam Chapel Church of Mendon. She was a lifelong Marceline resident.
Survivors include her daughter Stacey Graves, Hannibal; sons, Robert Graves and wife, Marlene, Marceline, Danny Graves and wife, Donna, and Tom Graves of Mendon; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 16 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Verner Wilson Graves; one son, Steven Lawrence Graves; her parents; and all of her siblings, Virginia Pipes, Maxine Ross, A.J. Pennick, Harold Pennick, and Gene Pennick; one grandson, Scott Earnest; one great-granddaughter, Teah Collor; sisters-in-law, Hazel Keil, Virlea Pollard, Genevieve Cox, Bernice Huttzel, and Mildred Pennick; and brothers-in-law Winston Huttzel, Rube Cox, Henry Keil, Virgil Ross and Jack Pipes.
