John Carey, 86, Brookfield, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church, Brookfield. Visitation will began at 1 p.m. today, May 15, 2013, at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 this evening. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Brookfield.

John William was born February 3, 1927, in Brookfield, son of John and Mary (Ferrell) Carey. He married June Watson. She preceded him in death.
John was a farmer and had lived and worked on the family farm all of his life. He was also a postal worker at the Brookfield Post Office. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Brookfield.
Survivors include his children, Judy Sebol, Brookfield, Susan and husband, Rod Bailey, Columbia, John Pat and wife, Mary Lou Carey, Liberty, and Sean and wife, Kelli Carey, Steens, Miss.; 12 grandchildren, Joey and wife, Stacy Sebol, Olathe, Kan., Shannon and husband, John Patella, Salisbury, N.C.,, Jennifer Sebol-Barnett, Kansas City, Doug Bailey, Columbia, Kent and wife, Tara Bailey, Mexico, Kelly Bailey, Columbia, Marty Bailey, Branson, Seana Carey, Tina, Neal Carey, Omaha, Neb., Brian Carey, Olathe, Kan., and John Carey and Rodney Carey, both of Steen, Miss.; 19 great-grandchildren; and his companion, Meredith Day, Brookfield.
He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Seanacy Carey; and his son-in-law, Wayne Sebol.
