Richard Price Bowyer, 69, Loveland, Colo., died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at his home.
A Celebration of Life service was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Loveland Church of Christ, 4100 S. Taft Ave., Loveland, Colo. 80537. Burial was in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colo., later this month.

Richard was born in Browning, where he attended grade school and participated in baseball, basketball, and track. In 1966, he received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Northeast Missouri State Teacher’s College, Kirksville. He also received an M.A. in Public Administration from the University of Northern Colorado in 1977. His family lived in Salida, Colo., from 1970-72, in Pueblo, Colo., from 1972-1985, and Loveland, Colo., for the remainder of his life. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966-1970. He was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Aurora, Colo., and served in Vietnam from 1969-70. He was employed by the Bureau of Reclamation from 1970 until retirement in 1994. After that, he worked at the Olde Golf Course until his health failed.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry; three children, Kimberly (Cody) Dyer, Chugwater, Wyo., Jacque (Ron) Wright, Littleton, Colo., and Brian (Shelly) Bowyer, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; six grandchildren Colby and Emily Dyer, Madelyn and Braden Wright, Braxton and Briella Bowyer, Godson Jared Cumpsten, Johnstown, Colo.; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Price Bowyer Jr., on March 22, 1971; and his parents Sterling and Gladys Bowyer.
