Betty Ann Ponting, 82, Hale, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at her home.
Burial was at Lakeside Cemetery, Sumner, Missouri. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale.

Betty was born February 8, 1931, in Sumner, daughter of Reams and Evelyn (Bennett) Downey Missouri. She was united in marriage to Richard Keith Ponting on August 20, 1949.
Betty spent her entire childhood in the Sumner area. She and her husband spent their early married years in the Sumner area and then moved to Hale in 1968. She was the owner and operator of The Honey House Restaurant, Sumner, Hale Meat and Grocery, Hale, and Riverside Kennels.
Survivors include husband, Richard Ponting, of the home; five sons, Terry Ponting and wife, Connie, Sumner, Timothy Ponting and wife, Barbara, Providence, Ohio, Theodore Ponting and wife, Brenda Hale, Reams Ponting and friend, Robin, Sumner, and Dick Ponting, Jr. and wife, Debby, Hale; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren, with two more on the way; and one sister Colleen Johnson, Brunswick Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
