America declares war
During the war between France and Great Britain in the early 1800s, the newly formed United States attempted to stay neutral. However, Great Britain refused to allow it. They boarded American ships and forced the crew to join the British navy claiming they were deserters. On June 18, 1812, the United States declared war on Great Britain.
