Lieutenant General George C. Kenney, commander of the Allied Air Force in the Southwest Pacific, has announced a posthumous Air Medal award to Lt. James S. Riley, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Riley, Macon, former residents of Marceline. H.F. Riley operated the hatchery in Marceline for several years. Lieutenant Riley, Liberator Pilot, was killed in action in the South Pacific during operations on March 23. He received his wings and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant to the Air Corps on April 12, 1943, at Luke Field, Ariz., and went overseas.
