Homer L. Phillips, 80, Kansas City, formerly of Marceline, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Carmel Hills Health Care and Rehab, Independence.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, in Grandview Cemetery, Hannibal, with Curtis Stephenson speaking. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, with Jack Hodgson offering prayers.

Homer was born September 1, 1932, in Westville, son of Homer and Hallie (Sportsman) Phillips. He married Anna Ruth Dorrell on July 4, 1958. She preceded him in death.
Homer was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone then AT&T where he retired in 1988.
Survivors include two brothers, Jerry Phillips and Patty, Mike, and Roger Phillips, Brookfield; four sisters, Mary Ethel Kramer and Dick, Burlington, Iowa, Janet Hodgson and Jack, Independence, Linda Stephenson and Curtis, Kearney, and Norma Niemeier and Terry, Liberty.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ray and Donald.
