Waunita Burris, 94, Laclede, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center in Marceline.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Casady officiating. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial was in Bucklin Masonic Cemetery, Bucklin.

Daisy Waunita was born July 12, 1919, in Bucklin, daughter of James and Daisy (Fitzgerald) Davolt. On May 21, 1938, she married Roy Estel Burris. He preceded her in death February 22, 1992.
Waunita and her husband had lived in Bucklin, Laclede, Brookfield, and Sumner, which she considered her home. She helped with the annual Goose Festival in Sumner and the Pioneer Kitchen meals.
Survivors include two sons, Gene Burris and wife, Kathy, Meadville, and Jim Burris and wife, Kathleen, Brookfield; four grandchildren, Ann Burris, Kansas City, Arla Beneke and husband, Jeff, Peculiar, Rebecca Cantrall and husband, Chad, Pleasant Hill, Iowa, and Matthew Burris and wife, Tiffany, Platte City; five great-grandchildren, Jessie Beneke, Lincoln, Teague, and Griffin Cantrall, and Katelyn Burris; one brother, John Davolt, Brookfield; four step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Carl Burris; two brothers, James Davolt and George Davolt; two sisters, Mabel Ritchie and Lydia West; nieces, Darla Hicks and Barbara Primrose; and nephew, Robert Ritchie.
