“Granny” Mabel Corbin, 89, Linneus, died Friday, August 2, 2013, at Life Care Center of Brookfield.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Linneus United Methodist Church, Linneus, with the Rev. Sue Lambert officiating. Burial will be in the Purdin Cemetery in Purdin. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today, Aug. 5, 2013, at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, with the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 this evening.

Mabel Lee was born December 12, 1923, in Purdin, daughter of Ray and Lela (Slater) Lee. On March 9, 1943, she married Grafton Corbin. He preceded her in death December 12, 2003.
Mabel was a graduate of Purdin High School and graduated from Missouri State Teachers College, Kirskville. She had taught school at several rural schools in the area. She also worked at Stanbury Uniform, Brookfield for 25 years retiring in 2001. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Linneus, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 538 in Linneus.
Survivors include four sons, Jack Corbin, Linneus, Jim and wife, Nancy Corbin, and Jerry and wife, Gayla Corbin, all of New Boston, and Bob Corbin of Kirksville; one daughter, Darlene and husband, Jerry Craig, Linneus; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two infant daughters, Ramona Lee Corbin and Barbara Ann Corbin.
