Bruce Springsteen
The writers of this blog are not music critics, and they don't consider a second (or third, fourth or fifth) mortgage to be a perfectly reasonable course of action to pay for front-row tickets, but despite being a whole lot more middle aged than they were when they first put \x34Born in the U.S.A.\x34 or \x34The River\x34 down on the turntable, still feels like Bruce has something -- OK, a lot of things -- to say about our country and the way we live our lives, things that not a lot of other artists are saying. And whether he's talking about the knife that can cut this pain from your heart, the house that's waiting for you to walk in or what that flag flying over the courthouse means, he's nailing down feelings that are so universal that they can raise your spirits and break your heart at the same time. Plus, letıs face it, the man rocks.

perthdatesIs Bruce Springsteen heading to the land down under in early 2014? Speculation abounded today as Triple M radio listed six concert dates in Australia with presale tickets dates a few short days from now, and public onsale dates near the end of August.

The webpage was taken down moments later, but our own Susan McDonald captured the screenshots you see here. Still viewable on the Triple M radio website is an advertisement to win tickets to the Australian 2014 tour.

Last week, it was announced that the four dates in South America in September would be the “Final 2013 Wrecking Ball dates.” So, is the Wrecking Ball Tour heading to Oz in 2014?

Although I’d be thrilled for Australia if these dates were true, I can’t help but wonder why Oz? Is it because tracks were recorded with Tom Morello while they were touring in Australia this year? Or, is there indeed an European issue as we pondered earlier this week? As Andy Greene pointed out in a recent article on Rolling Stone’s website, “Springsteen hasn’t played a single American concert since 2012.” We can only hope if Bruce Springsteen does return to Australia in 2014 the tour will continue in the United States as well. Fingers crossed, and stay tuned!
