  • Violet Huff, 89, Brookfield, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Moberly Regional Medical Center, Moberly.
    A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at the Eagles Lodge, Brookfield.
    Memorials to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brookfield Eagles may be left at the lodge or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, Mo. 64628.
    Violet Pearl was born April 21, 1924, in Palmyra, daughter of David and Ethel (Holt) Admire. On November 19, 1993, she married Elmer R. Huff. He preceded her in death March 19, 1995.
    Violet worked as a floor supervisor at Brown Shoe Factory, Brookfield, and later worked as a cook at Helm Street Inn, Brookfield. She was a member of Sparta United Methodist Church, Faucett, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brookfield Eagles Club for 42 years.
    Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Albanese, Brookfield; five grandchildren, Lindall Nickell, Jackson, Tenn., Jack and wife, Mary Turpin, New Boston, Tony Turpin and fiancee, Diane Best, Marceline, Chris and wife, Renee Turpin, Conception Junction, and Tom and wife, Kara Turpin, Bucklin; 21 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Clara Bish, St. Joseph; one brother and sister-in-law, Perry Wayne and Linda Admire, Denver, Colo.; and a son-in-law, Vern Turpin, Brookfield.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Bonnie Turpin; a grandson, Steve Nickell; three sisters, Betty Wilcoxin, Erma Nickell, and Bobbie Steen; and three brothers, Raymond, Dale and Kenny Admire.
